Control of algae?

We only have the turtle tank water for about two days, and then soon after became green. We must change the water often. Anyone able to recommend a better way to control the rapid growth of algae? Thank you! :)

I have no idea how do you have algae in a turtle shell, which is something I do not understand at all anyway I have a turtle tank red ear sliders, and my water glass is clear, I was in a 30 gallon tank with a filter submursible a 40 gallon tank that is activated to full-time, fill the tank in half, had a song floating in the tank, far away from the window of a special heater for the turtles in it for the month of October to April, filling water evaporated once a week to do a partial waterchange 50% every 2 weeks, we have the lights on 12 hours during the day and turn at night over 12 hours, fed once daily with or dried shrimp turtlefood That's all I do and my tank is clear that hope helps Good luck EB
